NFL Football Sheets

2004-2005

After the biggest season in NFL Football Sheets history took place in 2003-2004, it was completely blown away by the 2004-2005 season. The 2003-2004 season consisted of 11 players with a standard $5 buy-in. NFLFS thought it was on top of its game, but was outdone when the 2004-2005 season consisted of 15 players, and a $20 buy-in. The biggest noise came when Matt Mayan came out of retirement to return to the organization he once created. His brother Dan Mayan Junior won the title in 1998, and his father won it in 1999. This year, Matt Mayan wanted his own championship. Also, the 2004-2005 season had an all-time high of 7 rookies that joined the league. This was also the first year NFLFS moved on to the web.

The race for the title was very close with rookie Brian McKinney leading the pack. After Week 8, Brian had a 2 game cushion on last years champion Jake Mayan. Week 8 brought the second Power 10 Jackpot that James Mayan won, which helped him also surpass Brian for the lead, looking to win his third crown.

Week 12 was a big week. Rookie Jesse Shrader dropped out, Kathi Mayan won the third Power 10 Jackpot, a new leader arose, Anthony Nicol. Nicol's monstrous 14-2 week put him on top of the leader boards where he never looked back. He dominated the rest of the way and ended up winning by a 9 game margin, taking home $300.
