2005-2006
Like the previous two seasons, the 2005-2006 season was a groundbreaking one. However, this one was took a much bigger step. 15 players from the previous season soon changed into 27. 12 of them were rookies, and two of them were returning legends, both Dan Mayan's. Both of them were looking to recapture the crown for a second time. Two-time champion James Mayan introduced his wife and son to the organization, Bonnie and Robert Mayan. Robert became the youngest player to ever join NFL Football Sheets, at only 4 years of age. The previous years champion Anthony Nicol recruited 7 players, whom all formed "Team Touchdown". This would by far be the biggest season in NFLFS history.
After the first week of the season, 3 members of Team Touchdown (J.R. Hercha, Jeremy Slaughter, and Ralph Figueroa), along with underdog Robert Mayan lead the way. 5 weeks in, veteran Dale Hamilton was in the lead with a 4 game cushion on his daughter, Kristin Hamilton. This had been one of several seasons where Dale Hamilton lead after the first few weeks. Just 4 weeks later, history was made. Dale still held onto his lead, but Dan Mayan Senior and Jeremy Slaughter were on his tale. That week, Dan Mayan Senior turned in the first ever perfect sheet. He did not have a single loss and that was what boosted him into second place. Dan finally surpassed Dale after Week 15. Dale led 13 straight weeks, which is still a record today. Dale was just one game behind his rival Dan Mayan Senior and both of them were way ahead of the rest of the pack. The 2005-2006 season would be decided between Thunder and Chief. All in all, Dan Mayan Senior held on to his lead. Team Touchdown and the other 20 competitors weren't a match for the returning legend Dan Senior who captured his second title.
