2006-2007
The 2006-2007 season kept pace with the previous season. The 2006-2007 season actually eclipsed the record amount of players of the past year with 29, but a few weeks into the season, 4 players by the name of Anthony Mayan, Clinton, Jeremy Drago, and Toritse Tonwe all dropped out which left 25 players, all of them aiming for one goal, the Dan Marino Award. The season would end in dramatic fashion as it was the closest race for the title ever and will most likely never been passed in close-ness.
Kristin Hamilton took the lead by week 6, just a game above two previous champions, Anthony Nicol and Jake Mayan. Kristin would hold on to the lead for couple weeks as she was looking to become the first ever woman to win the Dan Marino Award, which has never been done in the 10 year history of the league (because men are superior). After 10 weeks, their was a 5-way tie for the lead, which would foreshadow future events. Through out the next several weeks the number 1 spot was being thrown around, usually in a tie among multiple players. After about Week 16 Jake Mayan took the lead and looked on his way to win his second title, but Jake would slip up on a few post-season games and the race would heat up. Going into the Super-Bowl, there was a 5-way tie! There was only way to settle the tie, and that was for each of the five players to pick a winner as well as the total sum of the Super-Bowl game. Whoever was the closest to the total score would be granted the DMA. At the end of the day, Jake Mayan was just one point off, which gave him his second DMA. Here are the Final Standings:
